Superhuman

Sauna inside Superhuman, keyboard-first email triage and replies.

Superhuman is Sauna sitting inside your inbox. Tag Sauna in a comment on any Superhuman thread and it picks up the conversation. It reads the full email and the entire comment history, then replies back as a comment in the same thread. The person who flagged it gets pinged inline when the reply lands.

Superhuman shares an inbound path with plain email but runs its own reply flow, its own data, and its own Dashboard filter chip. There's no connect step. If Superhuman can email Sauna's address, Sauna picks it up.

Trigger

@mention Sauna's address in a Superhuman comment and the conversation opens. Superhuman emails Sauna on your behalf, Sauna reads the notification, and the agent's first turn runs with your whole thread already in context.

  • @mention to invite. The gesture is Superhuman's native @ menu inside the comment pane. You don't paste an email address into a body; you mention it.
  • Plain comments don't start sessions. Only @mention actions open a new session. Drop a comment without mentioning Sauna and nothing new kicks off.
  • Others can add context. If Sauna already has a session on the thread and someone else comments, Sauna sees that comment as read-only context. It doesn't reply to the new commenter.
  • No connect step. If Superhuman can email Sauna's address, Sauna picks it up. No OAuth, no install.

What Sauna sees

Everything on the thread shows up. The current comment, the full email chain, and the entire comment history arrive together on every turn. Files attached to the email stay outside Sauna's reach.

  • The current comment. Your @mention, with formatting cleaned up.
  • The full email thread. Every message in the underlying conversation, not just the one you happened to be commenting on.
  • The entire comment history. All prior comments on the shared thread.
  • Who and what. Commenter name and email, original subject, and the mentioner's identity all come along.
  • No attachments. Files on the email thread don't reach Sauna, it gets the message text, not the files themselves.
