Sauna replies as a comment on the same Superhuman thread. The original flagger gets re-mentioned inline so their notifications fire. No return email, no Gmail draft by default.
- The reply is a comment. It posts as a new comment on the same thread, visible to everyone who can see the shared thread.
- Inline ping to the flagger. The original mentioner is
@mentioned at the start of the first paragraph, so they get a native Superhuman notification. - Formatting is narrow. Superhuman comments accept bold, italic, links, ordered and unordered lists, blockquotes, paragraphs, and line breaks. Headings, code blocks, tables, and images don't render in Superhuman comments and are stripped before sending.
- Silent on failure. If the comment post fails (auth expired, network blip), nothing comes back to the commenter. Plain email replies with a short error note when something breaks; Superhuman doesn't.
- Gmail drafts work through Connections. Ask Sauna to draft an email reply and it'll use the Gmail API if you've linked Gmail. The draft lands in your Gmail on the original thread. Same path as plain email; if Gmail isn't connected, the instruction is non-functional.
